Interview conducted by Jim M. Dandy as part of the LDS Native American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 11 April 1991. Chiquito talks about growing up in Crownpoint, New Mexico. She talks about her early family life, her conversion to the Mormon Church, and her experiences in the Mormon Church's Indian Placement Program. She talks about being a Mormon and attending Brigham Young University. She taks about Native Americans and the Mormon Church. She describes her feelings about the excommunication of George P. Lee.

Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program. Plans were officially announced in February of 1954 with the completion deadline being set for December of the same year.
